EHR
Selector

An Electronic Health Record learning and system
selection resource available to physician group practices,
EHR consultants and EHR developers. Members of HIMSS
(Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society), ACP
(the American College of Physicians) and AHQA (the American
Healthcare Quality Association), including their DOQ-IT
managers, are entitled to special discounts on EHR Selector
registration. The EHR Selector, originally known as the CPR
Selection Toolkit, was first developed as a collaboration
between Dr. Caroline Samuels and CPRI (Computerbased Patient
Record Institute). Subsequently, when that organization
merged with HIMSS, the tool was
rewritten to run on the Windows-based servers that HIMSS
managed, and renamed the HIMSS EHR Selector. In September
2006, the EHR Selector became part of a collaboration
between Dr. Samuels and Medical Strategic Planning, Inc. The
application was both rebranded and enhanced by MSP. The EHR
Selector
will continue to be enhanced by MSP to accommodate new EHR
criteria important to its individual and organizational
physician users.

country. The RHIO Wiki is an open, online, real-time tool

local and regional efforts; 2) asking and receiving from

and opportunities; and 3) sharing with other leaders their
own experiences, expertise, and knowledge.
